We need some tips for choosing a destination for a Golf/Casino vacation, group of 8 men.

Hello! I am doing some travel planning for a group of 8 men (myself included), we are having a hard time choosing a fitting destination so I decided to look for advice here. I will just jump right to it and give you guys the details for what we are looking for.
Amenities: We need a place with both a good Golf Course and a Casino within a reasonable distance from each other. Finally a solid nightlife is a must, good clubs with good music will go a long way. Also, a beach or harbor would be much appreciated.
Weather: Sunny, warm.
When?: We are flexible, but during summer would be preferable.
Budget: We are extremely flexible.
Thank you!

Is anybody missing the casinos and VLTs like I am? I guess this just proves I can live my life without them. Im thinking when this over I’ll spend my extra money on my grandkids or on vacations. I won’t go back.

This lock down could be the best thing for me, it I live through it.

Retirement in Las Vegas?

My wife and I would like to retire somewhere in the Western United States. Neither of us like significant cold weather.
My wife has hit upon the idea of retiring in Las Vegas. I've not spent much time there. We aren't gamblers - no gambling addiction worries.
My wife thinks it would be perfect for the weather, things to do (the shows and stuff), a great place for the kids and grandkids to visit (always something to do), a place where our friends would love to visit and could dovetail a visit with us with their casino vacations, low cost of living - no state income tax, lots of other retirees, and cheap airfare deals to and from whenever we want to travel.
We are not wealthy by any means, and we will be on a budget. My wife feels that Vegas would give a bang for the buck that other western U.S. cities would not offer for the same budget.
My concern is that I've read that it is actually a very boring, bland town if you aren't there on vacation, and kind of "scuzzy" and low-rent unless you are wealthy.
Thoughts about this idea? Resources to check it out?

Description

Carnival is a cruise company and provides vacations to cruise destinations throughout the world.

Recent financials

Looking at their financials I am immediately annoyed by the presence of "Adjusted EPS", which unsurprisingly has been higher than EPS for each of the last 5 years. Also, it's remarkable how big the capex is every year, Over $2bn. Wow. That's a lotta boat. Other items that stand out are their need to highlight lots of FX rates, the price of oil, and the efficiency of their oil usage. Though am glad to see that passenger numbers continue to grow!
Metric 2015A 2014A 2013A 2012A 2011A
Passengers 10.8m 10.6m 10.1m 9.8m 9.6m
Revenue $15.7bn $15.8bn $15.5bn $15.4bn $15.8bn
EPS $2.26 $1.56 $1.36 $1.65 $2.42

Competition

From their filings:
We compete with land-based vacation alternatives throughout the world, such as hotels, resorts (including all-inclusive resorts), theme parks, organized tours, casinos, vacation ownership properties, and other internet-based alternative lodging sites. Our principal cruise competitors are Royal Caribbean, Norwegian and MSC Cruises. Almost 90% of all 2014 global cruise guests sailed with these competitors and us.
And from an industry dynamic
The 2015 annual penetration rates when computed based on the number of annual cruise guests as a percentage of the total population are as follows: 4.0% for Australia and New Zealand, 3.4% for North America, 2.7% for the United Kingdom (“UK”) and 1.9% for continental Europe. Cruising in China is in the early stages of development.
So it's a really consolidated sector with just 3 big players. Plus there's still rather a low penetration rate for the industry. And given aging populations, and the potential to say cruises are safer, maybe there are some pretty helpful dynamics here for CCL and it's peers.
Though, I fear that this is a rather capital intensive business. Whereas hotels can have franchises or lease the property, you sort of have to have a boat? Is that why the returns on equity are low compared to the hotel majors?

Cash / Debt?

Carnival Corp has $8,910M of net debt. That is 1.9x it's latest operating profit. Not worrisome, and given the capital they have in terms of boats, I suppose it makes sense to load the business with debt! Though perhaps that wasn't a great strategy during a recession?

Wall Street thinks?

The professionals on Wall Street have a $57.00 for Carnival Corp and their recommendation to clients is Buy. That implies an upside of 22% to their target.

Valuation

The Cruise sector is clearly cheaper than the major hotels. Dramatically so. Though on a free cashflow basis Some of the hotels do manage to generate a similar amount of cash.

Dividends

Carnival Corp is forecast to pay a dividend of $1.29 per share, compared with a historic dividend of $1.25 per share. That is a 3% growth. The forecast dividend of $1.29 compares to a forecast EPS of $3.33.

Catalysts

In the last 3 months the stock price has moved by -6% that compares with a change in the earnings forecasts of -2%. That's against a backdrop of sales up 3% in the first 6 months, with reasonable demand.
Here's a link to the management team's latest call with Wall Street brokers.
(Signs for) the remainder of the year are very strong for our brands enabling us to raise our revenue yield expectations and affirming our conviction to deliver over 20% earnings growth this year.
Though they do go on to say that their "return on capital" is just 9% though they hope to get it to double digits. And they expressed confidence in their financial position which allowed them authorise a new share buyback.
Sure the geopolitical uncertainty isn't good for the travel industry, but aren't cruise ships pottering round the Caribbean insulated from that? Yes Brexit is bad with £ earnings now worth less in $. Though on the other hand, surely there is a great opportunity for secular growth in China and the rest of Asia?
At 14x earnings, it's not ridiculous a valuation, is it? Even if FX is a headwind. Though a 9% Return on Capital is the counter balance?
So...party time?

Question about the Casino Bus to Niagara Falls

Hey guys, I plan on making a trip to Niagara Falls for a night or two this upcoming Family day. I was looking into the casino busses that are offered such as the 'your casino vacations' bus that departs from Limeridge Mall. I was wondering if anybody has any experience taking them? I've heard online that casino busses allow no luggage whatsoever (big backpacks, luggage bags, etc.) As they don't want any tourists, just day gamblers. Is this the case with this shuttle or no?
Thanks!

Gravity's Rainbow Week 3 Discussion

Sup.
We're done with Slothrop's Casino vacation and subsequent trips to Nice, Zürich and Geneva. As before, ask whatever you want, post your favorite quotes and discuss.
What did you think about the infamous chapter about Pudding's encounter with Katje that played such an important part in robbing Pynchon of the Pulitzer?
DAE think the book often feels very cinematic?
Did you know badlitreads has been working with your parents ever since the day you were born to condition you to enjoy good literature by spelling out subliminal messages in the spoonfuls of alphabet soup that you ate as a child?
For those who have already read it, will we see more of Teddy Bloat? He's fucking hilarious.

where to go?

ok. looking to plan a 25th anniversary trip for my wife and i. 2019. plenty of time.
we are mid-40s from the upper midwest(michigan). we have travelled enough to know what we do and do not like. I am thinking 14-20 days out of country. no cruises, no guided tours.we are not ugly americans. my budget is $10k-15k(max). paying for 2 kids college tuition, so budget is not unlimited. if it was unlimited we'd go to japan or hong kong. maybe Australia. those are trips for future anniversaries. we've travelled through much of central and south america(costa rica/brazil(no)/argentina(yes)/etc) independently. and the caribbean(no thanks) and the US/canada. spirit aietc/ cheap air doesnt concern us. it's a flying bus. we have no issues flying and driving and would prefer to rent via vrbo/etc rather than hotels. mostly we just need reasonable lodging, a grocery, and things to do. we are not your parents. good local music(punk/heavy/alternative) or nightlife that isn't a club/dance/rave is a plus. not interested in any sort of tahiti/bora bora island/beach/casino vacation. maybe south east asia . vietnam (we have available lodging there)/malaysia/thailand/cambodia/laos we would really like to see angkor wat. or maybe back to argentina and spend more time in uruguay. we loved buenos airies. decent art/music scene.
any recommendations?
